Physiotherapist
Biography
Sumita Hintz is the owner & founding physiotherapist of Prairie View Physiotherapy. She is of mixed heritage, having a Canadian mother & British father. She spent her childhood & teenage years in Asia and moved to Canada for her post-secondary education. She acquired BA from Bethany College (with distinction) and graduated with a Master in Physical Therapy from the University of Saskatchewan in 2014 where she received the Elisa Rieder Memorial Award for the highest academic standing in physical therapy courses directly related to community & Aboriginal health.

Acquiring & developing professional skills in order to provide the best possible care to clients is a top priority for Sumita. She has pursued a variety of further physiotherapy education and participates in initiatives to promote greater access to physiotherapy & exercise therapy in rural Saskatchewan. Having grown up in countries where health care was limited & not available to a large portion of the population, Sumita recognizes the challenges of healthcare in a rural setting – especially those facing mobility challenges due to an injury or neurological condition.
Sumita believes that community involvement, both personally & professionally, is the only way to create positive change in society. As a result, she has provided physiotherapy coverage for local sports events and education to collaborate with other health care professionals & community members in Yorkton. Additionally, she is heavily involved in volunteer positions within her local church and children’s school board.
